My professional tuning services cover Edinburgh and the Lothians, ensuring your instrument is correctly stabilised at standard Concert Pitch (A440 Hz) or carefully restored via a pitch raise if required.
Beyond tuning, I offer comprehensive technical support ranging from action regulation and cleaning to bespoke string replacement. As an accredited member of the Pianoforte Tuners’ Association (PTA) and a trusted partner for industry leaders like Bonners Music, I prioritise transparency; I will always assess your instrument to explain the most economical repair options or the benefits of my new annual Maintenance Plans.

Repairs can cover a wide range of scenarios from a loose centre pin, a broken tape or a spring to that which may require significant workshop attention to resolve. Sometimes a simple repair can be completed within the timeframe of a routine piano tuning visit with a low/negligible cost impact, however, I will always explain exactly what the issue is, and how it can be repaired but more importantly, whether it is economical to repair explaining all the options available.
Regulation is a very important aspect of a pianos key and action assembly. Liken it to an engine that needs finely tuned to perform at optimum performance. I will check this during a tuning visit in any case and I can advise whether any additional adjustments are required that may require more time to carry out.
As a full member of the Pianoforte Tuners’ Association, I hold public liability insurance amounting to £5,000,000, ensuring that you are protected while I work on your piano, giving you peace of mind.
I am registered with the PVG Disclosure Scheme in Scotland. Based in Edinburgh, I cover the entire city and the surrounding Lothians. I’m happy to travel further afield to assist you with your piano tuning needs.
Payment for my services will be required upon completion of the job. Cash or bank transfer are equally acceptable methods of payment.
For a cancellation, I do require that at least 24 hours notice is provided (unless arranged within that time period) which will allow me sufficient time to re allocate your diary slot and reschedule my work commitments.
Should no one be present when I arrive at the agreed appointment slot and I am unable to gain access to the piano, I will attempt to make contact with you to establish the circumstances and whether access will be possible providing an additional 30 minute waiting period before leaving.
Although we can reschedule the appointment, for the purpose of both scenarios above, the full cost of the piano tuning would be invoiced.
